Tashkent, 27 November 2014

Knauf Gips KG organized in Tashkent-Uzbekinstan the International Symposium on “Earthquake Safe Constructions with Lightweight Steel Structures” on November 27, 2014. The location was chosen due to the high seismicity of the area (Tashkent was severely destroyed in 1966 as a result of a 10 degree earthquake in the Richter scale).

The symposium has focused around the ELISSA central research activities, highlighting the need for holistic design and lightweight construction accounting for structural and fire safery as well as energy performance. Partners of the ELISSA project presented their work in the frame of the symposium
